Women's Soccer opens Spring season with loss at D1 Monroe CC

Rochester, NY - The Herkimer Generals Women's Soccer team opened their Spring 2021 campaign with a trip to Rochester, NY on Friday to take on Division I Monroe Community College. After a close first half, the Tribunes pulled away in the second half to defeat the Generals by a score of 4-0.

Freshman Goalkeeper Kurstin Gay (Herkimer, NY) was strong in the net for the Generals, making 17 saves on the afternoon, to keep Herkimer within striking distance at the half as they were down 1-0. But Monroe pushed across 3 goals in the second half to secure the win.

Herkimer (0-1) will now turn their attention to their home opener on Friday, April 9th as they will host their rivals from Mohawk Valley Community College at Wehrum Stadium. Game time is set for 6:00 PM.
