Herkimer College Names New Director of Admissions

Michael Harrington, of Herkimer, NY, has been promoted to director of admissions at Herkimer College. He previously served as an admissions assistant at the College since August 2024. In this role, Harrington has built relationships with school counselors, advised prospective students on academic programs and support services, organized recruitment events, and managed recruitment data and prospective student outreach through a customer relationship management (CRM) system.

Prior to joining the Admissions staff at Herkimer College, Harrington served as college access advisor at SUNY Adirondack. He also served as an assistant coach and pitching coach for the SUNY Adirondack baseball team.

Previously, Harrington was director of sports for the Spa City Stallions Baseball Club in Wilton, NY, where he organized events, directed sports camps, and handled marketing and promotions. He also served as a graduate assistant in the Athletics Department at SUNY Cortland and as a volunteer assistant baseball coach.

Harrington holds a Master of Science in Sport Management from SUNY Cortland, a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from SUNY Cortland, and an Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies from Herkimer College.
