Herkimer County Community College Names Parker Forrest and Nevaeh Spencer Green & Gold Athletes of the Month for November
Herkimer County Community College is proud to recognize freshman swimmer Parker Forrest and freshman basketball player Nevaeh Spencer as the Green & Gold Athletes of the Month for November.
Forrest, a Business Administration major from Palatine Bridge, NY, put together an impressive month in, competing at a high level across several events. Over three meets in November, he earned multiple top finishes, including two second place finishes in the 50-yard breaststroke, first and second place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle, a second-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly, and a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard individual medley.
Head Coach Nick Lanckton credited Forrest’s commitment and steady progress throughout the month. “Parker has shown tremendous commitment to our program,” Lanckton said. “His work ethic in practice and competitive mindset at meets make him a very deserving recipient of this honor.” Forrest’s performances have helped set a positive tone for the team as the season continues.
Spencer, a Sports and Recreation Management major from Brooklyn, NY, also had a standout November, making her presence felt on both ends of the court. Spencer averaged 15 points, 7.8 assists, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game, consistently finding ways to impact the game beyond the score sheet.
Spencer’s strong play earned her Region 3 NJCAA Athlete of the Week honors for November 3–9, a reflection of her leadership and all-around game early in the season. Head Coach Matthew Hazzard praised Spencer’s versatility and competitiveness. “Nevaeh is one of the best all-around basketball players in Region 3,” Hazzard said. “She has a great feel for the game and makes everyone around her better.”
Together, Forrest and Spencer represent the hard work, talent, and team-first mindset that define Herkimer County Community College Athletics, as both programs continue to build momentum throughout the season.
