Cogar Gallery Announces Call for Art Submissions for “Liberty” Exhibition
In recognition of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, the Cogar Gallery at Herkimer County Community College is inviting artists to submit work for a special exhibition titled “Liberty.”
The exhibition will commemorate the semi-quincentennial (1776-2026) of the United States and explore the evolving meaning of freedom in today’s world. Artists are encouraged to submit works that question, celebrate, challenge, or reimagine the concept of liberty through their own creative perspectives.
The exhibition will run April 13–27 at the Cogar Gallery, located in the Robert McLaughlin College Center at HCCC, 100 Reservoir Rd, Herkimer, NY.
Artists 18 years of age or older may submit one artwork created within the past five years. There is no entry fee. All media are welcome; however, AI-generated images will not be accepted.
Additional requirements include:
· 2D artwork must be ready to hang.
· 3D artwork must be no larger than 72 inches in any direction.
· Video works must be accompanied by their own display interface.
The Cogar Gallery reserves the right to refuse artwork due to physical or content concerns.
Cash prizes will be awarded with $100 for first place, $75 for second place, and $50 for third place.
Artwork may be offered for sale during the exhibition. The Cogar Gallery will retain a 20% commission on all sales.
