The Herkimer Generals Esports team claimed the NJCAAE Division III Madden NFL 26 National Championship after an exciting 2-1 comeback victory over Gordon State College in the Grand Finals.

Herkimer’s Dewayne Adams delivered a memorable performance in the title match, securing the championship with a dramatic 37-36 win in Game 3 while controlling the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against Gordon State College’s Pittsburgh Steelers. The deciding moment came with just eight seconds left on the clock, when Adams converted a clutch two-point conversion to seal the victory for the Generals.

The series opened with Gordon State College taking Game 1, defeating Adams 49-35 while he played as the Baltimore Ravens. Adams bounced back in Game 2 with a thrilling 49-46 win as the Detroit Lions, hitting a last-second field goal to even the series and force a decisive third game.

The national title is the third championship in Herkimer Generals Esports program history and another major accomplishment for the growing program.
