Herkimer County Community College Seeks Entries for Alumni Art Exhibition

The Cogar Gallery at Herkimer County Community College will present the Herkimer County Community College Alumni Art Exhibition from Aug. 28 through Oct. 16, showcasing the creative work and artistic accomplishments of college alumni.

The exhibition is open to all Herkimer County Community College alumni and is intended to provide graduates from across the years with an opportunity to reconnect with the College, share their work with the community and exhibit alongside fellow alumni.

Artists may submit up to two original works in traditional or contemporary media. Accepted media include painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, graphic design, printmaking, woodworking, fiber arts and textiles, mixed media, fine crafts and other finely crafted original objects.

Each piece may not exceed 6 feet in any dimension, including the frame or base. All submissions must be the original work of the artist. AI-generated images will not be accepted.

Entries may be delivered to the Cogar Gallery from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, or from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22. An opening reception will be held Friday, Aug. 28.

Submitted works may be picked up from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, or by appointment after Oct. 17. All pieces must be delivered to and picked up from the Cogar Gallery.

Works may be offered for sale during the exhibition. The Cogar Gallery will retain 20% of all sales.

The Alumni Art Exhibition is designed to recognize the artistic achievements of Herkimer County Community alumni, highlight a broad range of creative expression, strengthen connections among alumni, students, faculty and the community, and underscore the role of the arts at the College.
