Herkimer County Community College announces Makers of the Mohawk Valley exhibit

The Cogar Gallery at Herkimer County Community College will present Makers of the Mohawk Valley from Oct. 29 through Dec. 11, celebrating the art and finely crafted objects produced throughout the region.

The exhibit will showcase the diverse creativity of makers associated with the Mohawk Valley. Artists and craftspeople ages 18 or older who live or work in the region are invited to submit up to two pieces created within the past three years. There is no entry fee.

Artwork must be hand-delivered to the gallery on Oct. 23 from 4 to 5 p.m. or Oct. 24 from 10 to 11 a.m. Entry forms will be available at drop-off and must be completed.

Accepted media include two- and three-dimensional fine art, pottery, photography, video, textile arts, glass and woodworking. All submissions must be ready for display. Two-dimensional work must be ready to hang, and three-dimensional pieces must measure no more than 72 inches in any direction. Video art must be accompanied by its own interface. AI-generated images will not be accepted.

The gallery reserves the right to refuse artwork because of physical or content concerns. It will retain 20% of all sales.
