Generals tame Cougars, sweep doubleheader

Herkimer, NY - The Generals hosted the Cougars of Clinton Community College on Saturday afternoon and romped to two big wins of 19-2 and 10-0. Both games were shortened to five innings by the run rule.

The second game included a rare occurrence. Senior Brandon Overstreet played all nine positions during the contest. He played each of the three outfield positions in the first inning. He began the final inning behind the plate, then went to the mound and struck out the last Cougar batter.

HCCC will host the Royals of Schenectady County CC on Sunday afternoon. The Royals and Generals played a very competitive doubleheader in Schenectady on April 23. HCCC won the first game 1-0, and the Royals took the second game 4-3. Sunday's first pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
