Herkimer Track and Field competes at St. John Fisher Meet
Rochester, NY - The Herkimer Men and Women's Track and Field teams enjoyed another successful day at the Cardinal Classic at St. John Fisher. Freshman Wendall Williams (Syracuse, NY) had another huge day for the Generals as he set three facility records and broke three HCCC school records on the day. Wendall won the 100m with a time of 10.70 and won the 200m with a time of 21.51. Wendall also tried the triple jump for the first time in his career and broke the school record set in 1988 by Jim Leamer with a jump of 14.02 in finishing in second place in that event. Williams rounded out the day by placing fifth in the high jump and was part of the third-place 400m relay team.
Other athletes had outstanding days for Herkimer as well. Among the athletes who put up their best times and distances of the year were Joseph Shinn (New Rochelle) in the 110H, Demetrius Mitchell (Syracuse, NY) in the 100m and 200m, Chad Knapp (Homer, NY) in the 400m, Shawn Hanks (Syracuse, NY) in the hammer throw, DaQuan Corbitt (Bronx, NY) in the 400mIH, and Chris Morales (Beacon, NY) in the long and triple jumps.
The Herkimer women had some strong performances as Region III Athlete of the Week Mary Lenhart (Hannibal, NY) turned in her personal best in the shotput. Personal bests were also achieved by Amanda Knox (Gloversville, NY) in the 100m and 400IH as well as Tatiana Maldonado (Syracuse, NY) in the 800m and Victoria Seabrooks in the long jump.

The Generals looks to continue their success as they travel to Alfred State College this weekend for the Region III Championships. Events begin on Saturday morning, May 4th.
