SGA Officers v3

New Student Government Association (SGA) officers have been elected for 2021-2022 and are ready to make a positive impact here at Herkimer College. The SGA serves as a voice for the students, and officers and senators are appointed to become advocates for the student body. Meet the new officers:

  • President Ryan E. Packard, of Oneonta, NY, is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration. As SGA president, Packard also serves as the student representative on the Board of Trustees. Ryan is also a member of the Herkimer Generals baseball team. Ryan graduated from Oneonta High School, where he was a three-sport athlete and a member of Future Business Leaders of America. He also performed community service with Oneonta’s SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) chapter.
  • Vice President Maria Dellagatta, of Staten Island, NY, is an online student majoring in Human Services. Maria joined SGA to get involved at Herkimer and ensure that all student voices are being heard. Maria is also a student ambassador and a member of the Alcohol & Other Drugs Board (AOD). Maria wants to leave a “true honest path forward for the health and welfare of our college students.” Her hope is to influence other Internet Academy students to become involved in their school community.
  • Treasurer Mee Ra Da is a Business Administration Major from Utica, NY. Mee Ra is involved in tennis, swimming, and golf at Herkimer College. SGA offers students the opportunity to “grow as an individual and give a platform where an individual can advocate for the needs of other students,” says Mee Ra. To best serve her campus, Mee Ra joined the SGA to promote leadership, communication, and teamwork. With SGA, Mee Ra hopes to solve the everyday challenges students go through on campus and give a voice to those who want to make positive changes at Herkimer College.
  • Secretary Ty Gallagher comes from Saugerties, NY and is an Accounting
He is enrolled in the Honors Program and is a member of the baseball team. Ty joined SGA to help improve student life on campus and get other students involved at their college. Ty believes it is important for “students to get involved with creating a better environment” at Herkimer College.

SGA meetings are open to all students. If you’d like to be involved with student government, but are not sure how, reach out or join the Student Government Group in MS Teams.
