2026 Battle of the Books Regional Competition

WHAT: OHM BOCES School Library System "Battle of the Books" Competition
WHO: Approximately 150 middle and high school students from regional districts, along with teacher/librarian advisors and parents
WHEN: Wednesday, March 18, 9 a.m.–1:30 p.m. (9:15-11:35 a.m. initial round of competition; 12:30-1:00 p.m. final rounds for top teams)
WHERE: Herkimer County Community College, Robert McLaughlin College Center, Sarkus-Busch Theater

Participating schools expected to include: Clinton, Dolgeville, Holland Patent, Little Falls, New Hartford, New York Mills, Richfield Springs, Sauquoit Valley, Utica, and West Canada Valley
Battle of the Books is an annual academic competition designed to encourage reading, teamwork, and a love of literature among students. Students will compete in a fast-paced literary trivia contest based on a selected reading list.
