Aquatics teams doing well in regionals, Ross is champion
Rochester, NY – Partial results from the Region 3 swimming and diving championships are now available, and the Generals are doing well. Complete results should become available on Tuesday.
Herkimer senior Sylvia Ross has won the regional three-meter diving event. Ross sprang, twisted, tucked, and dived to her personal-best performance in the 11-dive event at the three meter height.
The Friday finals included the following highlights for Herkimer swimming and diving:
- The women's and men's 200 freestyle relay teams both swam season-best times.
- Katelyn Egnaczyk swam a personal-best time in the 50 freestyle and finished seventh.
- Kaitlin Winnie swam a personal-best time in the 50 freestyle and finished third.
- The women's 400 medley relay team swam a season-best time and qualified for the nationals.
- The men's 400 medley relay team swam a season-best time.
- Alex Whalen swam a personal-best time in the leadoff (backstroke) leg of the 400 medley relay.
- David Stanley swam a personal-best time in the leadoff leg of the 200 freestyle relay in the and qualified for the nationals.
- Sylvia Ross had a season-best score in the one- meter diving event (11 dives), finishing second.
