Former Herkimer Soccer Star Advances to NCAA Division II National Championship

Kansas City, Mo. – Former Generals men’s soccer star Jermaine Windster had two assists in the University of Charleston’s (19-2-2) 2-1 win over Rockhurst University in the NCAA Division II national semi-final game. Windster’s first assist was in the 48th minute when he beat a defender and served the ball to Will Roberts who tied the game at 1-1. His game winning assist was in the 54th minute where he beat Rockhurst’s outside back and crossed the ball near post into Felipe Antonio who headed the game winner. The Eagles now advance to the national championship game against Wingate University who beat UC San Diego 2-0 in the other semi-final game.  The Championship game will be live streamed 1PM Saturday December 3rd on www.ncaa.com.

Originally from Rotterdam, Netherlands, Windster won a national championship with Herkimer College in 2013 and was an NSCAA All-American in 2014. “Our Herkimer soccer family is so proud and happy for Jermaine,” said Coach Pepe Aragon. “We will all be watching the national championship game proudly.”
