Hailey 1

Plattsburgh, NY - The #2 nationally ranked Herkimer Women’s Soccer Team traveled to Plattsburgh Sunday to take on the Clinton Cougars. It didn’t take long for the Generals to solidify the eventual outcome as they scored 3 times in the first 10 minutes for a quick 3-0 lead. Tallying the first goal of the game 43 seconds in was sophomore Mikayla Blumenstock (Poland, NY) off a Hailey Couchman (Baldwinsville, NY) pass. Couchman would also setup the second goal about a minute later this time setting up freshman Sarah George (Dolgeville, NY). Freshman Haley Harrington (Stockbridge, NY) scored the third goal at the 9 minute mark off a George assist. It took another 10 minutes for Harrington to strike again as she gave the Generals a 4-0 lead 20 minutes in. Jenna Rogers (Port Leyden, NY) was credited for the assist.

The Generals came out in the second half picking up where most of the starters left off scoring an early goal. This time Caitlin Handy (St. Johnsville, NY) would find Adrianna Sposato (Baldwinsville, NY) 4 minutes into the second half for a 5-0 lead. Herkimer would maintain possession throughout the second half as they picked up the road win. Rachel Todd (McGraw, NY), Honesti Crochran (Dover, NY) , & M’Kenzie Bradshaw (Oswego, NY) all saw time in the goal for the shutout.

The Generals next play at home against North Country Wednesday 9/20 at 7pm.
