Murphy Nets Two in Generals 3-0 Win over North Countr
Herkimer, NY – Sophomore forward Luke Murphy (Glasgow, Scotland) scored two goals in Herkimer’s 3-0 win over North Country CC. Murphy scored the first goal in the 4th minute off a pass from freshman midfielder Abelardo Mendoza (Bridgeport, Conn). Freshman Marius Svendsen (Drammew, Norway) scored the second goal of the game in the 15th minute off and assist from sophomore Gus Ward (London, England) on a corner kick. Murphy finished out the scoring for the Generals in the 19th minute off an assist from sophomore Gianni Cognata (Cape Coral, Florida).
Sophomore GK Roandre Wollery (Hartford, Conn) recorded two saves in 45 minutes of action. Sophomore GK Liam Mullings (London, England) came in for the second half and recorded one save. The Generals return to action Friday night against SUNY Broome. Kick-off is at 7:00pm at Wehrum Stadium.
