Troy, N.Y. - The ladies went to Hudson Valley on Wednesday to face a Vikings team that just knocked off the number one ranked team in the country Erie.  Looking to get back on the winning track the Generals didn’t have to wait long again to open the scoring.  Sarah George gave Herkimer the lead 4 minutes into the game, courtesy of a Mikayla Blumenstock (Poland, NY) pass. The pair wasn’t done there as they would connect two more times to help pad their lead. It would be Hudson Valley though that found an equalizer off an errand clearance just 7 minutes after Herkimer struck. The tie would not last very long as the George-Blumenstock connection would give Herkimer the lead for good 32 seconds after. George (Dolgeville, NY) completed the hat trick thanks again to a Blumenstock pass in the 27th minute.  Blumenstock would get a goal herself in the 32nd minute from a Hailey Couchman (Baldwinsville, NY) ball.  Hudson Valley got a 2nd goal in the 75th minute but it was too little too late as Herkimer would get that goal back thanks to a Caitlin Handy (St. Johnsville, NY) finish. Mallory Baldwin (Johnstown, NY) served a great ball to spring Handy on goal.

In regards to coming off a tough loss on the road Coach Palkovic said, “It was a good game to bounce back and get on track. We want to continue to build and get better in preparation for the Region 3 playoffs."  He continued, “Hudson Valley is always a tough place to play so we are happy with the road win and performance today.”

Herkimer is now 9-1 and will host Cayuga this Saturday at 1:00.
