#1 Herkimer defeats # 8 Nassau in 1st round

Dryden, N.Y. - Mikayla Blumenstock (Poland, NY) continues to show off her skills on the national level.  Blumenstock started off the tournament with a goal on an assist from teammate Sarah George (Dolgeville, NY) in the 8th minute of play.  Sarah George would then find the net on an assist from Hailey Couchman (Baldwinsville, NY) 5 minutes later to increase the Generals lead by 2.  Herkimer wasn't done scoring in the first half.  Alexis Romeyn (St. Johnsville, NY) scored the final goal of the half unassisted in the 34th minute.  The Generals 2nd half was highlighted by another Blumenstock goal in the 50th minute.

The Generals advance to the NJCAA DIII semifinal game against Delta CC at 3 pm in Dryden, NY.  The two will go head to head for the chance to play in the 2017 NJCAA DIII women's soccer national championship.
