Herkimer Women's Track and Field wins Region III Championship

Little Falls, NY - The Herkimer Women's Track and Field team won the 2018 Region III team championship on Saturday afternoon, May 5, in Little Falls NY. The winning effort was led by Malerie Belles (Clay, NY) who won the Region III title in the Women's High Jump with a mark of 1.49 M. Miyah Stroman (Syracuse, NY) won the Region III Women's Triple Jump with a distance of 9.43 M. Belles and Stroman also were joined by Alexis Perkett (Remsen, NY) who all finished in top 3 of women's heptathlon. The women's team scored 186 points on the weekend, easily outdistancing second place Onondaga CC, who scored 126 points. 

On the men's side, The Generals garnered a third place finish in the Regional standings. Highlights included Kenny Joseph (Dover Plain, NY) won the Region III title in the Men's Triple Jump with a distance of 12.42 M. Mamadou Diallo (Bronx, NY) finished second in the 400M dash and Jordan Edmonds (Bridgeport, CT) finishing third in the 100M final. 

The Generals now move on to compete in the NJCAA Division III National Championships at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY on May 10-12.
