Herkimer Women's Basketball drop two games on the road

Watertown, NY and Binghamton, NY - Coming off of the Thanksgiving break, the Herkimer Generals Women's Basketball team dropped both games of a two game road trip against Jefferson Community College and SUNY Broome. The two losses bring the Generals record to 3-5 on the year.

On Thursday evening, Nov 29, the Generals traveled to Watertown, NY and dropped a 65-46 decision to Jefferson CC. The Cannoneers shot out to a 16 point halftime lead at 37-21 that Herkimer could not recover from. Freshman Lexi Debeatham (Albany, NY) led the way for the Generals with 17 points on the night.

Two days later, Herkimer traveled to Binghamton, NY to take on the Hornets from SUNY Broome. Poor free throw shooting doomed the Generals as SUNY Broome got the 56-49 win. Herkimer shot 13-29 from the free throw line in the loss. Debeatham had another strong game, once again leading the Generals with 17 points on the afternoon. Markia Peak (Rochester, NY) added 10 in the defeat.

The Generals will return home on Saturday, December 8th for a matchup with traditional Region III power Onondaga Community College. The Lazers, the defending Region III Champions, will tip off with Herkimer at 3:00 PM in the Herkimer Varsity Gym.
