Alex Charles named National Player of the Week

Herkimer, NY—Freshman Alex Charles, of Christ Church, St. Kitts, has been named DIII NJCAA Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 9-15.

Charles had four goals and an assist in Herkimer’s wins over Jamestown Community College and Clinton Community College on Sept. 14 and Sept. 15, respectively. He had a goal and an assist in the Generals’ 5-1 win over visiting Jamestown. The following day, Charles scored three goals on the road against Clinton to lead the Generals to a 7-0 victory.

“This is a well-deserved honor for Alex,” said Coach Pepe Aragon. “He has been working extremely hard in training and it has paid off.”

The Generals are currently ranked No. 2 in the most recent NJCAA national poll. They went on to win against North Country Community College 11-0 on Sept. 18, making them 8-0 on the season heading into their Sunday matchup at home against Corning Community College.
