Herkimer Soccer earns # 2 seed as they host Men's Soccer National Championships

HERKIMER, NY—Herkimer College will be the host site for the 2019 NJCAA Division III Men’s Soccer National Championships. National Quarterfinal games begin on Thursday, Nov. 14. The National Semifinals will be played Friday, Nov. 15, and the National Championship Game will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17.

The Herkimer Generals secured the No. 2 seed and will play at 4 p.m. on Thursday against the No. 7 seeded Emory Oxford Eagles. Herkimer topped Cayuga 2-1 in overtime in the Region IIIA Championship Game on Sunday to improve its record to 18-0-0 on the season and punch its ticket to the National Tournament. It will be the 21st trip to Nationals for Coach Pepe Aragon since he took over the program in 1998.

 

The field of eight teams was set last week during District Championship Play. The schedule for Thursday’s National Quarterfinals is as follows:

  • Game 1: No. 8 Sussex CCC (NJ) vs.  No. 1 Richland College (TX)   11: a.m.
  • Game 2: No. 5 Genesee CC (NY) vs. No. 4 Nassau CC (NY)   1:30 p.m.
  • Game 3: No. 7 Emory Oxford (GA) vs. No. 2 Herkimer College (NY)   4 p.m.
  • Game 4: No. 6 Bunker Hill (MA) vs. No. 3 Camden CC (NJ)   6:30 p.m.

Admission to the 2019 NJCAA Division III Championships is $5 per day. Children under 12 are free.
