Henderson 3 point play with 2 seconds left lifts Herkimer JV to win over Paul Smiths

Herkimer, NY - Jerome Henderson (Jamaica, Queens) hit a layup and one with 2.4 second left to give the Herkimer JV Men's Basketball team a thrilling 67-64 victory over Paul Smith's JV on Saturday afternoon in Herkimer, NY. The last second win lifted the JV Men's record to 7-1 on the season.

The first game of the second semester for the JV team was a back and forth affair before Herkimer ran out to a 10 point lead at 47-37 midway through the second half. The Bobcats battled back and took a brief lead at 63-62 with under a minute remaining. After a Paul Smith's free throw tied the game at 64 with 8 seconds remaining, the Generals broke the Bobcats full court pressure before Henderson converted the conventional 3 point play to secure the win.

Tavon Bates (Liverpool, NY) led Herkimer with 25 points while Henderson added 19 in the victory. The Generals return to action on Saturday, Feb 1 as they will travel to Paul Smith's College for a rematch with the Bobcats. Game time is set for 11:00 AM at Paul Smith's.
