JV men comeback falls just short, lose 77-75 to Monroe College JV

Herkimer, NY - Down 17 at the half, the Herkimer Generals JV Men's Basketball team came all the way back to tie Monroe College with 45 seconds left before falling by a score of 77-75 on Tuesday afternoon at the Herkimer Varsity Gym. The loss drops the Generals record to 10-3 on the season.

Tavon Bates (Liverpool, NY) scored 29 of his game high 34 points in the second half to lead the Generals comeback and his 3 point play with just under a minute to go tied the game at 75. Bates then fouled out on the next Monroe possession, leading to two free throws that gave Monroe the advantage to hold on for the win. Ryosuke Hikichi (Kanagawa, Japan) pitched in with 19 points in the loss.

Herkimer wraps up its season with a home contest against the JV team from Monroe College in the Bronx. Game time for the finale is set for Saturday afternoon, February 22nd at 1:00 PM in the Herkimer Varsity Gym.
