Herkimer College establishes new Health Professions transfer agreement with SUNY Upstate Medical University

Students can now seamlessly transfer into several baccalaureate degree programs from the College's Health Professions A.S. degree.

Herkimer County Community College has entered into a new transfer agreement with SUNY Upstate Medical University, allowing students to seamlessly transfer into the following baccalaureate degree programs from the Health Professions A.S. degree:

  • Medical Imaging Radiography (X-ray), B.S.
  • Medical Imaging Sciences/Ultrasound, B.S.
  • Medical Technology, B.S.
  • Medical Biotechnology, B.S.
  • Radiation Therapy, B.S.
  • Respiratory Therapy, B.S.

Herkimer College courses with grades of ā€œCā€ or higher are acceptable for transfer credit, and all science courses must include laboratories. Specific courses required for transfer into each degree program are outlined in the agreement.

The partnership also includes an early admissions program for high school seniors, where students can apply to both Herkimer College and SUNY Upstate with guaranteed admission into one of the upper division programs at SUNY Upstate Medical University, provided they maintain the GPA requirements and meet all the conditions of acceptance.

Herkimer College has more than 150 transfer agreements with four-year colleges and universities in both the private sector and SUNY. More than 60 percent of Herkimer College students transfer to continue their education after graduation.
