The 2021 edition of Phaethon is now available for digital download on the Herkimer College website.

Phaethon is the College’s student-submitted literary arts magazine. The 114-page publication features various works of fiction, poetry, photography and other creative projects. This year’s publication team was fiction editor Carynn Bohley (Salem, NY; General Studies, A.A.), visual editors Michael Cook (Frankfort, NY; Communication & Media, A.S.) and Kaitlyn Jenks (Canajoharie, NY; Communication & Media, A.S.), and poetry editor Elijeanah Monroe (Schenectady, NY; Communication & Media, A.S.)

Named after the Greek myth of Phaethon, son of sun god Apollo, who attempted to drive Apollo’s chariot that pulls the sun across the sky, the magazine values bold fiction, poetry, and art that “obliterate” the boundaries of expression.

“[Phaethon’s] confidence, courage, and daring are an inspiration to all of us,” the magazine’s forward reads.

Free hard copies of the publication are also available in the Herkimer College library. For more information and to read the latest edition, go to herkimer.edu/phaethon.
