Women's Soccer grabs first win of season at Niagara

Sanborn, NY - The Herkimer Generals Women's Soccer team earned their first win of the 2021 Spring season with an 8-0 road win over Niagara County Community College on Friday afternoon in Sanborn, NY. The victory improves the Generals record to 1-2 on the season.

Hailey Traut (Frankfort, NY), Kayla Suppa (Oneida, NY), and Jazmyn Gillette (Ilion, NY) led Herkimer's attack with 2 goals each. Alexis Smith (Salisbury Center, NY) and Carliza Roark (Poland, NY) each added a goal as the Generals raced out to a 3-0 halftime lead before adding 5 more in the second half in the win. Kurstin Gay (Herkimer, NY) made 3 saves in goal to earn the shutout victory.

The Generals, ranked #5 in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll, will look to get the .500 mark in their next contest as they will travel to Canandaigua, NY to take on the Finger Lakes Lakers on Friday, May 7th. Game time is set for 4:00 PM.
