Herkimer Men's Soccer players earn postseason honors

HERKIMER, NY—Six Herkimer College men’s soccer players have been named to the Mountain Valley Conference and Region III All-Conference and All-Region teams for the Spring 2021 season.

The Herkimer College student-athletes on the MVC All-Conference Team are:

  • Alex Charles, forward (Christ Church, St. Kitts)
  • Ikiel Collins-Brown, midfielder (Highland Mills, NY)
  • Yohan Kim, defender (Seoul, South Korea)
  • Max LaRosa, midfielder (Spencerport, NY)
  • Ali Somow, forward (Utica, NY)
  • Manabu Takahashi, goalkeeper (Osaka, Japan)

Charles and Kim led the Region III First Team and were joined by LaRosa and Somow. Collins-Brown and Takahashi are Second Team All-Region selections.

Kim was also named Mountain Valley Conference Co-Player of the Year this year, and Charles was named Region III Player of the Year.

The Generals won the Region III Title for the twenty-second time in 23 years by defeating Mohawk Valley Community College in the championship game on Friday, May 21. They will take part in the 2021 NJCAA Division III National Championships, hosted by Herkimer College on June 2-5.
