Palkovic named Region III Coach of the Year; 6 Herkimer women’s soccer players earn postseason honors

HERKIMER, NY—Six Herkimer College women’s soccer players have been named to the Mountain Valley Conference All-Conference and Region III All-Region teams for the Spring 2021 season.

Head Coach Jason Palkovic was also named Region III Coach of the Year. This is the second time that Coach Palkovic has won the award.

Palkovic is in his fifth year as head coach with a record of 66-15-1. He has won the Region III Championship three times and his squad finished second in the nation in 2017.

Herkimer players named to the All-Conference team are:

• Kayla Suppa, forward (Oneida, NY)
• Hailey Traut, midfielder (Frankfort, NY)
• Jazmyn Gillette, midfielder (Ilion, NY)
• Raquel Burton, defender (Liverpool, NY)
• Emma Bilinski, defender (Dolgeville, NY).

Bilinski, Burton, Suppa, and Traut were also named to the All-Region First team. Gillette was named to the All-Region Second Team, along with goalkeeper Kurstin Gay (Herkimer, NY).

The Generals finished the regular season ranked No. 4 in the NJCAA Division III National Poll and finished second in Region III.
