Herkimer stays unbeaten with home win over Jamestown CC

Herkimer, NY - The Herkimer Generals Women's Soccer team remained unbeaten in the Fall 2021 season with a 6-1 win over Jamestown Community College on Saturday afternoon at Wehrum Stadium. The non-conference win moved the Generals, ranked # 5 in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll, to 3-0 on the year.

Sophomore Patty Fernandez (Madrid, Spain) opened the scoring for Herkimer, scoring her first collegiate goal to give the Generals a 1-0 lead. Hailey Traut (Frankfort, NY) added another first half goal to give Herkimer a 2-0 lead going into halftime. Traut also added 2 assists in the second half to give her the NJCAA Division III lead in assists after 3 games.

Natalie Little (Whitesboro, NY) opened the second half scoring with her first goal as a General, extending the lead to 3-0. Kayla Suppa (Oneida, NY) added 2 goals and Taya Yacobucci (Canajoharie, NY) closed out the Generals scoring in the second half before Jamestown tallied a late goal for the 6-1 final. Suppa two goals and assist on the day put her 4th in points for NJCAA Division III soccer.

Herkimer has a quick turnaround as they will travel to Johnstown, NY on Monday, Sept 13 to take on Mountain Valley Conference foe Fulton-Montgomery. Start time is scheduled for 2:00 PM on the FMCC campus.
