Generals use late scoring burst to top Jamestown CC

Herkimer, NY - Scoring 3 goals in the last 12 minutes, the Herkimer Generals pulled away to a 4-1 win over the Jamestown CC Jayhawks on Saturday afternoon at Wehrum Stadium. With the win, the Generals improved to 2-0 on the season.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first half, Christ Valle (Highland Mills, NY) tied the game up with just 2 minutes left in the first half to send the game to halftime tied at 1. The game remained that way until Dylan Pederson (Earlswood, England) broke the tie with a goal with just just 12:16 remaining to give Herkimer the 2-1 lead. Less than 2 minutes later, Yamato Fujishima (Saitama City, Japan) tallied an unassisted goal to extend the Generals lead to 3-1. Nichlas Kamfjord (Sandnes, Norway) completed the Generals scoring with a goal with just under 5 minutes remaining for the 4-1 final. Ali Somow (Utica, NY) added 2 assists for Herkimer in the win.

The Generals, ranked # 2 in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll, now hit the road for the first time in their Fall 2021 campaign, traveling to Johnstown, NY on Monday Sept 13 to take on the Fulton-Montgomery Raiders in a Mountain Valley Conference match-up. Start time is set for 4:00 PM.
