Generals bounce back with road win at Corning CC

Corning, NY - Playing their 3rd road game in 6 days, the Herkimer Generals bounced back from their first loss of the season at North Country on Wednesday to post a 7-0 win over Corning CC on Sunday afternoon. The non-conference win lifted the Generals record to 5-1 overall.

After taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, Herkimer exploded for 6 goals in the second half, led by Carliza Roark (Ohio, NY), who tallied her first collegiate hat trick, scoring the only goal of the game in the first half, followed by 2 more in the second half. Kayla Suppa (Oneida, NY), Natalie Little (Whitesboro, NY) and Hailey Traut (Frankfort, NY) also added second half goals and Freshman Mackenzie Magnusson (Vernon, NY) added her first goal in a Herkimer uniform.

Kurstin Gay (Herkimer, NY) made 9 saves in goal to earn her first shutout of the season and move to 2-0 on the season in goal.

The Generals will return home on Wednesday afternoon, Sept 22 to take on Mountain Valley Conference rival Hudson Valley CC at 4:30 PM at Wehrum Stadium.
