Generals Shut Out Lazers 4-0

Herkimer NY- Thursday, The Herkimer Generals Men's Soccer team hosted Onondaga CC Lazers for a regional matchup. The Generals got the scoring early when freshman midfielder Kyle Middleton (Dundee, Scotland) pounded in the first goal of the night. Middleton was assisted by fellow freshman Yamato Fujishima (Saitama City, Japan). Freshman defended Hussein Osman (Utica, NY) scored his first goal of the season assisted by sophomore Will Leary (Crowbrough, England) just before the half to put the Generals up 2-0.

Sophomore forward Mitchell Bourdeau (Swanton, NH) rounded out the scoring for the Generals with two goals in the second half. Bourdeau was assisted both times by freshman Ali Somow (Utica, NY). Somow finishes out the season with 14 assist which has him tied for the most in the region. 

Sophomore Goalkeeper Manabu Takahashi(Osaka, Japan) had 4 saves on the night and secured his 4th shutout of the season. 

The Generals finish the regular season at 8-1 and currently stand as the number 3 ranked team in the nation. The Generals awaiting the regional seeding.
