Herkimer Women's Bowling Wins Region III Championship

Utica, NY- The Herkimer women bowling team continued there successful 2022 season by, winning the Region III Championships at Erie CC. The men's team once again had a solid showing, finishing 5th in the Region III Championships. 

Women bowlers, Sianna Kenyon(Ilion, NY) and Sophie Hyde(Mohawk, NY) took first place in the doubles event, and Abigail Maurelli(Morris, NY) and Leeanna Bala (Manhattan, NY) took 2nd in doubles. Sianna Kenyon also took 2nd in the singles event and 2nd in All Events. Sianna Kenyon, Sophie Hyde, Abigail Maurelli, Leeanna Bala and Sierra Williams(Brooklyn, NY) were named to the All Region team. 

For the men David Cook(Little Falls, NY)led the way finishing 7th in singles, 12th in all events and 10th in doubles while partnered with Michael Carlson(Barneveld, NY)

Head Coach Tony Deluca said, "I'm extremely proud of what this group has accomplished. From a green group to a region title in just a few short months is pretty incredible. The hard work that they've put in on and off the lanes just proves that they can accomplish anything that they set their minds to. The sky is the limit for these ladies." Deluca went on to say "The National tournament is going to be a challenging experience for a lot of these bowlers. But I know they're ready for this new challenge and have the necessary capabilities to succeed."

The Herkimer Generals Bowling team will now travel to Lansing, Michigan for the NJCAA National Bowling Championship which will take place on March 3rd-5th.
