Generals Top Erie 8-0 and 18-3 to Move to Region 3B Championship

Herkimer NY- The Herkimer Generals women's hosted Eric CC Kats for the Sub-Regional series on Saturday (5/14). The Generals offense exploded for 28 runs on the day to cruise to doubleheader sweep.

The Generals offense was led on the day by Angelina Montanez(Troy, NY) who had 4 hits on the day with 5 RBI's and 4 runs scored. Marisa Correa(Schenectady, NY) added 3 hits and 4 RBI's to pace Herkimer. Nayana DeAmelia(Warrensburg, NY) hit her first home run of the season in game 2 and had 3 RBI's on the afternoon. Kassandra Granobles(Miami, FL) scored 3 runs on the day while picking up 2 stolen bases. 

Herkimer pitchers Madison Puppalo(Adams, MA) and Hannah Derock(Hunt, NY) picked up the wins on the day. Puppalo struck out 8 in her 5 innings shutout and Derock struck out 5 in 3 innings in relief.

Herkimer moves to 30-7-1 and will host Hudson Valley CC in the Region 3B Championship series on Thursday (5/18).
