#2 Nationally Ranked Herkimer Men Move to 7-0-0

Troy, NY – The Generals Men’s Soccer team defeated Hudson Valley CC 6-0 on the road.  Freshman MF Shuntaro Morimoto (Kanagawa, Japan) and sophomore forward Nichlas Kamfjord (Sanndnes, Norway) each had two goals a piece to lead the Generals in scoring.  Freshman forward Aseong Choi (Yangsan, South Korea) opened up the scoring in the first minute of the game off a great early cross from sophomore captain Ali Somow (Utica, NY).  Morimoto scored the next two goals of the game in the 32nd and 63rd minute.  Morimoto"s first goal was on a one time finish off a near post service from freshman Freddie Frazer (Brentwood, England).  He opened the second half scoring off an assist from Somow.  Herkimer scored the next three goals in the last five minutes of the match.  Kamfjord scored in the 86th minute on a one time finish just outside the six yard line off of Somow’s third assist of the game.  Somow scored one minute later off an assist from freshman Wilman Miranda (Mamaroneck, NY).  Kamfjord scored the final goal of the game in the 88th minute off an assist from Morimoto.

Freshman goalkeeper Cathal Carney (Springfield, Massachusetts) recorded his sixth shutout of the season making two saves in 90 minutes of play.  Herkimer is back on the road again on Saturday where they will travel to Binghamton, NY to take on SUNY Broome.  Kick-off is at 3:00pm.
