Herkimer Generals Baseball Coach Lane Potter won his 100th career game as head coach on Saturday, May 10 in a 7-1 win over Genesee Community College.

Potter began his coaching career at Herkimer as an assistant coach for six seasons, before becoming the head coach in July 2022. As head coach, Potter’s record is 101-23 in just under three seasons, winning 81 percent of his games as head coach. As a collegiate player at Herkimer from 2008 to 2010, Potter helped his team to a third-place finish at the NJCAA Division III World Series in 2010.

In Potter’s 100th career win, freshman Brendan Rusnack threw a nine-inning complete game to secure the win in the first game of a best-2-of-3 subregional series. In the second game, the Generals offense hit six home runs in a 24-1 win to advance to the Region III Final Four later this week at Falcon Park in Auburn, NY. Herkimer has clinched the three-seed in the double-elimination tournament that begins Thursday, May 15. Herkimer will play No. 2 Hudson Valley Community College on Thursday at 5 p.m. Games following will be dependent on the results of the previous games.
