Herkimer College Promotes Jason Brown from Assistant Professor- English to Associate Professor

The Herkimer College Board of Trustees has taken action to promote Jason Brown from assistant professor of English to associate professor, effective September 1, 2025.

Among his accomplishments, Brown has served on numerous college-wide committees, including as chair and co-chair. He takes an active role in the Academic Senate, serving as a senator and officer. In 2019, Brown spearheaded an online English developmental course and, in the same year, was bestowed the Exemplary Online SUNY Educator Award.

At the employee appreciation ceremony on Wednesday, May 14, in recognition of Brown’s promotion, Provost Michael Oriolo said, “Jason Brown has proven to be an invaluable addition to the College for 20 years and counting.”
