Herkimer County Community College Appoints Brenda Carney Director of ASAP

Brenda Carney, of Little Falls, has been appointed to the position of director for Advancing Success in Associate Pathways (ASAP) at Herkimer County Community College.
Since joining Herkimer College in 2008, Carney has served in multiple capacities, including senior advisement specialist for ASAP, research and assessment specialist, and instructor in the arts and psychology programs.
As senior advisement specialist for ASAP, Carney played an instrumental role in implementing the $240,000 state-funded retention program supporting at-risk students. As director, she will oversee all aspects of the program, which provides resources and support services to help students stay on track toward degree completion.
Carney earned an associate degree in art studies from Herkimer College and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies/creative arts from Utica College. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership at SUNY Oswego.
