Campanian and Felton earn Co-Athlete of the Week

HERKIMER, NY — Herkimer County Community College had two athletes, one male and one female, recognized as Co-Athletes of the Week. They were freshman soccer player MacIntyre Felton (Vestal, NY) and freshman cross country runner Victoria Campanian (Glenfield, NY), both of which are Generals Studies majors at Herkimer.
Felton helped the Generals (12-1) outscore opponents 8-0 last week, chipping in three goals and two assists. Against Jefferson, Felton had one goal and one assist. That effort improved against Genesee Community College, where Felton had two goals and one assist.
Campanian won the Mountain Valley Conference Championship last Saturday, running the 3.1 mile course in 20:06. The second-place finisher for the women clocked in 42 seconds after Campanian, who has three first-place finishes in six meets this season.
The men's soccer team is coached by Pepe Aragon. Aragon, a six-time NJCAA National Championship winner, is in his 16th season as head coach, amassing a 292-27-14 overall record in that time.
The cross country team is coached by Julie DelMedico and Stephen Sydoriw. DelMedico is an Academic
Coach in the College's Academic Support Center and adjunct professor in sociology and psychology, while Sydoriw is a full-time professor in physical education and sports and recreation.
