Campanian named Green & Gold Female Athlete for October

HERKIMER, NY – Sophomore Victoria Campanian was named Green & Gold Female Athlete of the Month in October. A Liberal Arts & Sciences: Generals Studies major at Herkimer College, Campanian repeated as both Mountain Valley Conference (MVC) and Region III Champion in 2014.

A resident of Glenfield, NY, Campanian competed in four races during month. In three of those races she took first place overall, coming in 12^th place at Hamilton College, a meet which included NCAA competition.

The sophomore earned Region III Athlete of the Week awards in weeks seven and nine for her first-place finishes at SUNY Delhi and Hudson Valley, posting 19:56 (10/8), 18:03 (10/18) and 19:17 (10/25). The 18:03 gave her a MVC Championship and 19:17 gave her a Region III Championship.

“Victoria’s quiet demeanor does not exist when running,” said Associate Head Coach Sharon Howell. “She truthfully runs for the love of it, and I believe it’s the reason she has been successful at Herkimer College. She’s always attentive and willing to improve! It’s been a treat watching her get better as the season has progressed.”
