As an Art Teacher for the Herkimer Central School District, Heather McCutcheon loves inspiring her students each day through their use of fine arts. She also coordinates the Arts in Education programs for the district.
McCutcheon credits the Fine Arts faculty for playing a role in her success. “It was nice to have small class sizes and independent discussions with my teachers. They helped prepare and put together my portfolio for when I transferred to Oswego State for a Bachelors in Fine Arts (and then a Masters in Art Teaching.) They definitely went out of their way to help me set that up and make it a smooth transition.”
McCutcheon loves working with students and seeing the amazing work they create. “The most important part of my job is caring about my students and pushing them to be the best they can be, not just in art but in life.”
Below is a list of transfer agreements we have established (for our Fine Arts A.A. Program) with four-year colleges & universities to provide a seamless transfer of credits.
