Generals get big win against Fulton-Montgomery, 57-47

Herkimer, NY - Markia Peak (Rochester, NY) scored 19 points to lead the Herkimer Generals Women's Basketball team to a 57-47 win over Mountain Valley Conference Rival Fulton-Montgomery on Saturday afternoon in Herkimer, NY. The win lifts the Generals record to 5-11 overall and 3-3 in conference play. 

The turning point was in the second quarter as Herkimer outscored the Raiders 22-7 to turn a 5 point deficit at the end of the first quarter to a 10 point half time lead at 32-22. FMCC made multiple runs in the second half, once cutting the deficit to 3 before the Generals went a big run to start the 4th quarter to secure the win. Lexi DeBeatham (Albany, NY) scored 13 points for Herkimer, with 2 3-pointers, and Myjoi Adams (Pomona, CA) chipped in with 12. Gabby Howard (Frankort, NY), Clinique Robinson (Catskill, NY) and Brittani Campbell (Rochester, NY) combined for 13 points and keyed a tremendous defensive effort that held the Raiders to just 32 points over the final 3 quarters of play.

The Generals now get 5 days off before traveling to Johnstown, NY on Friday night, February 15th for a rematch with the Raiders on their home court. Game time for Friday night is set for 7:00 PM.
