    HCCC announces the appointment of Laura Jacquays, Newport, NY, to the position of college prevention coordinator for alcohol and substance abuse. Jacquays will be responsible for the day-to-day activities and organization of the campus community coalition and its work on the college environmental prevention objectives as well as guiding the coalition to develop and implement strategies that will lead to long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations and individuals in college underage drinking and drug abuse prevention.

    The Herkimer County Community College Board of Trustees recently approved Emeritus status for Professor Kalman Socolof.

    The Amnesty International Club at HCCC will sponsor Have a Heart for Human Rights on Thursday, February 15 from noon to 2:00 p.m. in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, upper lobby.
