Herkimer County Community College Announces Candidates for the 48th Annual CommencementHerkimer County Community College announces candidates for the 48th annual commencement to be held Friday, May 20 at 5 pm in the gymnasium of the Physical Education Building. There are 508 candidates for associate degrees and 35 candidates for certificates.
Students who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.25-3.79 as of the completion of the fall 2015 semester are awarded the associate degree cum laude; 3.80-3.99 are awarded the associate degree magna cum laude; 4.0 are awarded the associate degree summa cum laude. -

Eighty One Students Inducted to Phi Theta Kappa International Honor SocietyHerkimer County Community College’s Upsilon Epsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Society inducted 81 students at a ceremony on April 26 in the Robert McLaughlin College Center. Chapter President Jill Cadena David presided over the ceremony, along with College President Cathleen McColgin, Provost Michael Oriolo and Dean of Students Dr. Matthew Hawes.

Herkimer College Phi Theta Kappa Members Volunteer at Herkimer County Humane SocietyMembers of Herkimer County Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society chapter volunteered at the Herkimer County Humane Society on Saturday, April 30. Advisors and students walked dogs, socialized with cats, cleaned windows and scrubbed cat towers. The visit capped a spring cleaning supplies drive held by the chapter, and was organized by chapter member Stephanie Temple (Ilion, NY).
