This course is intended for teacher and paraprofessional candidates to develop the necessary skills to provide (individualizing) instruction that will promote participation and progress of students with disabilities in the general education curriculum. Characteristics of various disabilities along with basic educational services provided to individuals with disabilities according to special education process and State and Federal special education laws and regulations will be presented. Effective teaching and paraprofessional practices and application of positive behavioral supports and interventions to address student & classroom management needs will be examined. Fifteen hours of preservice contacts are required to complete assignments throughout the course. Students must provide their own transportation to off-campus locations.Course Pre-requisite: Students must have current (within one year) TB test results.

  1. Begin the registration process by submitting the Online Non-Matriculated Application Form.
  2. Register for your course(s) using Student Online Services.
  3. Access Herkimer Online Courses several days prior to the course start date.

 

How do I pay for my course(s)?

  1. View your charges using Student Online Services. Select "Student Services," then select “Account Summary by Term.” You can then view your charges for the Summer term.
  2. Tuition is always due before class begins and all accounts must be settled in full prior to the due date of the bill to avoid additional fees and/or possible deregistration from the course(s). To make an electronic payment, select "Make Electronic Payment", from the links listed under the Student Services tab of Student Online Services, and pay your bill using MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or ACH from your checking or savings account. You may also pay over the phone at 315-866-0300 x8315.
