Music Theory II

This course runs from January 18, 2024 to May 07, 2024 on MWF from 12:20 pm to 1:15 pm

This course is designed to be a continuation of Music Theory I. There will be further study of the structure of chords, harmonic progression, voice leading, modulation and basic composition. Additionally, students will be asked to analyze music excerpts to understand how the techniques learned in class are employed within compositions. Beyond the written work required for the course, students will transcribe simple melodic and rhythmic examples. Prerequisite: HU 213.
