Start Your College Journey Without a High School Diploma or GED
At HCCC, we understand that students come from all different backgrounds and journeys, but if you are interested in furthering your education, we are here to help!
If you have not earned a high school diploma or GED, you may enroll through the NYS High School Equivalency Diploma pathway.
In this program, you will take the Ability to Benefit test to verify sufficient academic preparation for college coursework and then complete 24 credits that count towards your chosen college major to earn your High School Equivalency Diploma.
Eligible candidates must:
- Pass the Ability to Benefit test
- Currently reside in New York State (for at least 30 days)
- Not be a high school graduate
- Have reached maximum compulsory school age (students are required to attend school until the last day of the school year in which they turn 16)
- Students will receive ongoing support from a dedicated academic advisor along the way to ensure success in earning both a high school equivalency diploma and a college degree!
