This course is designed to develop a general understanding of the science of criminal inquiry and to build on this knowledge by detailing the elements of crime scene investigation in specific areas of criminal activity. Major aspects of the criminal investigation function of police are included, from the preliminary investigation to the preparation of the case for review by the prosecutor. The course consists of lecture and applied laboratory exercises.
