This course is designed to increase effective and appropriate written, oral, and non-verbal communication skills reinforcing the importance of maintaining a positive public image through research, discussion and performance of skills in listening and responding, stress management, and responses to conflict. This course also focuses on developing skills in planning, organizing, composing and revising correspondence, reports, and presentations. In addition, students will develop strategies on how to effectively and proactively use traditional and social media to disseminate and manage messages. Student must successfully complete this course in order to move on to second semester requirements (CJ190, CJ 192, CJ 194, CJ 195).
