Point of Pride #20 - The Children's Center
At Herkimer College, we offer high-quality child care, right here on campus. Licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the Herkimer College Children’s Center provides a nurturing, educational and fun experience for children from ages 18 months to five years old.
Open to children of students, employees and community members, the Children’s Center ensures a safe and healthy learning environment with an appropriate curriculum designed for the specific age group of children. Being located on a college campus provides unique opportunities for special activities. The Children’s Center also serves as a practicum setting for students in the College’s Early Childhood Education program.
Professionally trained, caring staff develop long term relationships with the children and their families. The Children’s Center was recently presented with Cornell Cooperative Extension’s ‘Friend of Children’ Award for its family-friendly services and demonstrated leadership in establishing family-friendly policies which allow Herkimer College employees, students and community parents the ability to balance work, school and family. Additionally, staff members Kathleen Netti and Toni Montana were recognized for their direct influence in providing excellent care and education to children.
Herkimer College’s Children’s Center is now accepting child care registrations for the spring 2017 semester. For more information, visit www.herkimer.edu/childcare.
